Some days

Some days you are your best self.

You are settled within your ‘secure base’: calm and alert, clear in your priorities and flexible with execution, ready to focus on opportunities, open to engage with and foster the best in others. Here, you tap into all your resources. Results come easily and your energy is optimised for your situation.

Other days

Some days you are your worst self.

You are unsettled: your ‘secure base’ feels small and shaky. You struggle with focusing and deciding. Relating to others is laborious, synergy is minimal. Here, you access only some of your resources. Results come slower and your energy is scattered and misaligned with your goals.

But most days? You are somewhere in between. Your secure base fluctuates and you surf the ups and downs.

In my experience, managing your energy more effectively means that you develop a stronger secure base and are at your best more easily in one or all of these areas:

  1. PERFORMANCE (mobilizing your own talents as well as others)
  2. INFLUENCE (connecting and inspiring)
  3. QUALITY OF LIFE (wellbeing)
  4. RESILIENCE (emotional self-regulation)

More specifically, after applying PEM, I often hear my clients saying:

  • I engage with my virtual co-workers as though they’re in the room
  • I now have more control on my emotional ups and downs
  • I adapt much faster to change and to people
  • I feel less rushed and can keep my priorities
  • I learned how to switch off my mental chatter when I leave work
  • I can resume my full focus after being interrupted

The better your energy matches the situation, the easier it is to achieve your goals.
